Cereal Straws

I do not know what Kellogg's was thinking when they introduce Cereal Straws. Maybe there are a few kids out there that think the idea is great. Froot Loops, Cocoa Krispies and Apple Jacks are the Cereal Straws that are available.

Living On Cereal put Cereal Straws to a taste test by inviting two beautiful girls (my daughters of course) to participate in this blindfolded taste test. First the participants were blindfolded with a fresh sock from Living On Cereal's sock drawer. The participants were each given a straw to drink milk from. The results were not good. One participant stated, "Dad, what in the world were you thinking? These things are gross". Another participant stated as she spit out the milk, "I do not like this; Dad can I have a popsicle".

Living On Cereal does not recommend purchasing Cereal Straws. Cereal Straws are not that tasty and they eliminate the tradition of picking up your bowl and drinking the leftover milk from it (which I have found to be good etiquette in homes that do not eat off paper plates). Not only do this straws taste bad and eliminate a cereal tradition but they cost between $3 and $4 per box. That would buy a lot of cereal for families who are Living On Cereal.

Funko Bobble Heads

Check out these bobble heads. You can buy these bobble heads on eBay for the "low" price of 79.95 (plus shipping and handling) on eBay. This is too much for Living On Cereal. Living On Cereal did some research on this bobble heads and found that they were made by a company called Funko. Funko has many other bobble heads you can choose from such as superheroes, cartoon characters and mascot from products. I especially like the Great Root Bear from A&W. If you have never eaten at a A&W Root beer restaurant (I am not talking about the ones that are combined with a Cap'n D's) then you are missing out.
Living On Cereal believes that these bobble heads would make great Christmas gifts for the person who has everything or in Living On Cereal's case the man who does not have much but is happy anyways Living On Cereal.

Living On Cereal

Well it looks like Google may have blocked ads from appearing on my site. That is okay though. Living On Cereal is use to not having any money and will continue to Live On Cereal.

OJ's

No not OJ Simpson; I am talking about OJ's cereal. From what I have found about this cereal is that it was pretty much orange Froot Loops with Kix cereal. On the box is Joe, the OJ’s Orange Rancher. When I see this commercial it makes me think about an Orange Julius (check out their cool site).

I wonder if the cereal was out today if the prizes were an OJ Simpson mug shot sticker or a Matchbox white Ford Bronco. Just think; if you send in 5 UPC's you would get a glove that does not fit. The possibilities are endless. I found a great pic of the box and an old commercial. I have to post both of these.

Cerealicious!

What a great place to eat cereal. I have seen other cereal cafes but nothing like this. Cerealicious! is number one in my book. The franchise is actually located in the Philippines so the chance of Living On Cereal to make it there is between slim and none. Cerealicious! cafes are located next to or in movie theatres and the menu consists of "Blockbuster Cereals". These "Blockbuster Cereals" are named after some of the best movies. For example they have Banana Jones and the Temple of Doom which is a combination of Special K, raisins and bananas. Other menu items include:

Froot Loose - Froot Loops, Apples and Bananas

Fo-reese Gump - Combination of Cap'n Crunch and Reese Cups.

The Gummi Returns - Honey Stars, Gummi Bears and Marshmallows

I-Rone Man - Frosted Flakes with Toblerone candy and chocolate wafers.

All Living On Cereal readers should go visit the site then go to the Living On Cereal poll and vote for their favorite Cerealicious! Blockbuster.

TOOTIE FRUITIES!!

Tootie Fruites wins in a land side! In honor of Tootie Fruites we want to salute Tootie from the Facts of Life. Now, the younger generation does not know who Tootie is but she was a character on a horrible show (The Facts Of Life) that you had to sit through because it was shown in between Different Strokes and Silver Spoons. At one time I even believe it was shown before Knight Rider.
Anyways, "You take the good and take the bad and there you have, The Facts of Life."

Living On Cereal Wins!

In August, if you remember, Living On Cereal entered into their first cereal contest. This contest was for a box of Cinnabon Cereal as advertised on AMomsReview.com. Living On Cereal proudly announces that Living On Cereal is a WINNER. Over 250 people entered and I was one of the chosen 10.
Winning has been a tradition for this blogger. I have won on every level. At the elementary school level I won numerous cake walks. In junior high I was the 4-square champion (so what if I only had 4 friends and one was missing an arm). In high school not only was I unbeatable in Tecmo Bowl (best football game ever) but I won the Jon-Belt. The Jon-Belt (this was a belt we found that had a huge belt buckle with the name Jon on it) was awarded to the top wrestler amongst the Sams' Brothers. Now in my adult life the winning tradition continues.
